Germanium Tone Control

Chandler Limited, Germanium Tone Control, front

OVERVIEW

PRODUCT DISCONTINUED AS OF MARCH 2018. The Chandler Limited Germanium Tone Control equalizer uses active AND passive EQ circuits in combination with the GERMANIUM amplifier developed for the GERMANIUM Pre Amp/DI and incorporates the versatile Feedback and Drive controls as well. All bands use inductors for the fattest smoothest tone possible. The passive low frequency section is selectable between “Pultec/Lang” interactive curves and more standard low frequency with pass filter for maximum flexibility while the Treble and Presence bands are active and designed to sound like your favorite British eqs from yesteryear. The Tone Control equalizer continues the GERMANIUM tradition of undeniable sound with maximum flexibility at a reasonable price. Fans of the Pre are sure to love it!

All Germanium units require and function on the PSU-1, Chandler Limited power supply. The PSU-1 has an internal switch for setting voltage to 120V or 220V (115V/230V). For more information please call us at (319) 885-4200.

TESTIMONIALS

Billy Bush

"Suffice to say that the TG2, Germ pre and EQ, and TG1 are there anytime I track drums, TG2 for guitars and the LTD-1 is there whenever I do vocals!"

Andre Antonio, Canada

"Let me express my "wowness" with the TC - Incredible! It does things no other EQ I've heard can do, the bottom end is HUGE - I failed to reproduce that with my other EQ's miserably. The active section is "no-less-wowing", the cliche "it never gets harsh" applies here, it's bold and beautiful!"

Mikolaj Bugajak, Audio-Games, Poland

"I just wanted to say, after mixing two albums with Tone Control and LTD-2 how sick those devices are. Creating sounds is as easy as playing Game Boy. Great stuff!"

Joe Barresi

"I think this is one of the most musical sounding EQ's I have ever heard. It immediately turned a paper thin snare sound into a phone book!!! Insane! The low end control is incredible....from fat round bass tones to thick kicks, and the top is sweet and powerful. The flexibility and control of this EQ is unlike anything out there, and once it found its spot on an instrument, I was extremely bummed that I didn't have a console full of these!"

Gear Slut

"When I first tried these last week, I passed an old mix through them. I added +2db at 20k and a -2db of 300hz.............When I regained consciousness there was a bulge in my pants...LOL. These things are freaking cool. And that British look had me sipping tea all weekend. Jolly-oh!"

The Wilshires

"Our Tone Control arrived, and I inserted it on a vocal track -- ridiculous I say! The top end is SO smooth, I boosted 20k all the way just to see -- NO sibilance just "expensive air". Cut 150, boosted 220 interactive mode...PHAATTTNESS, no boominess. I'm very upset though, and I know people have posted this on gearslutz, because I MUST have 7 more."

Michael Brauer

"I thought this EQ strip was awesome, but the multi combinations of gain/feedback turn this toy into a chameleon."

Mike Caffrey, “Tape Op” Nov/Dec 2006

"If gear design were a sport, I'd be call for steroid testing of Wade Goeke, as he seems to hit a home run everytime he's at bat. I don't think its an exaggeration to say his Germanium Tone Control is the most innovative new EQ design I've seen. You'll find this EQ is capable of making insanely perfect tones. I've never heard an EQ that can truly make a sound fatter in the way this one does."

Paul Vnuk Jr.

"...This thing is like potato chips, there is no way you can have just one!"

Hugh Robjohns, “Sound on Sound” Nov. 2007

"There aren't many products that come my way which genuinely surprise me, but this Chandler Tone Control is one of the few. It does so much more than it looks like it should, and it does those things so much better than anything else I can think of. If you want interesting and musical EQ, this is it. Start saving your pennies now!"

Matthew Sweet

"The eqs---just total game-changing magic from the interactive thick section! So easy to work with just your ears., experimenting with the interactions --- the presence and treble are both so crazy usable too. Musical to the max, great for any vocal or instrument. I've got an amazing low-mid low-end thing going that makes everything sound amazing."
